A lot of science fiction depicts a future with no religion at all, or the subject of religion is never really brought up--and when it is, it is often a disorganized spirituality. Organized religions, if they appear, are almost invariably evil. But regardless of one's opinions on religion, it is a fundamental part of human life and culture. How can we write about religion in our science fiction settings? Should we?
